Jabalpur Engineering College
Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC), formerly known as Government Engineering College, Jabalpur, is an institute located in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. JEC was established as the Government Engineering College, Jubbulpore on 7 July 1947, during the British rule in India, making it the oldest engineering institute of central India and the 15th oldest engineering college of India. It also has the oldest Electronics & Telecommunication department in India, which was started in 1947, right from its inception.
It was affiliated to the University of Sagar from 1947 to 1956, then to the University of Jabalpur, until the year 1999, and from 1999 to 2010 to Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal, which is the State Technological University of Madhya Pradesh.
